Sources
The books this wiki is built from, each preserved as its own faithful map in the author's own framework and terms.
The Concepts and Perspectives sections merge and rearrange ideas across books. This section does the opposite: it keeps each book whole. Every source gets one page that walks its argument in the author's own structure, chapter by chapter, so you can see the original frame before it was broken apart and recombined.
If a concept page sends you here, it is because the author's full treatment is worth reading in context. And if any of these books is useful to you, buy it from the author. Full citations and purchase links live in SOURCES.md at the repository root.
The four books
- Get Acquired by Christine McDannell. A seven-step, do-it-yourself playbook for selling a small business without a broker.
- Finish Big by Bo Burlingham. A study of what separates a good exit from a bad one, where most of the difference is not the price.
- The Art of Selling Your Business by John Warrillow. Strategies for building negotiating leverage and getting a premium price.
- Walking to Destiny by Christopher M. Snider. The Value Acceleration Methodology: a years-ahead system for growing transferable value so the timing of your exit becomes irrelevant.
How these pages differ from the rest of the wiki
- Faithful, not merged. A source map follows the author's order and language, not the wiki's taxonomy.
- Heavily quoted. These pages quote generously so the author's voice carries through.
- One book each. Cross-source synthesis happens in Concepts and Perspectives, not here.
Further Reading
- Concepts the merged, cross-source lexicon
- Perspectives where these authors agree, disagree, and sharpen each other
